David Gordon Green and Danny McBride return with the conclusion to their Halloween reboot/sequel trilogy, Halloween Ends. The film is just as messy and divisive as the previous entries, but it finds some unique footing and takes a new stab at the tired slasher format. As an end to the Laurie Strode saga, it’s problematic to say the least, but as a film on its own right, it’s something different and surprising.
