Thanksgiving Horror Flicks

Easily the top faux trailer from 2007's Grindhouse was Eli Roth's brutal and hilarious holiday-themed slasher, Thanksgiving. It was the most anticipated and hopeful trailer to actually materialize into a full-blown feature. There was some promising hype from Roth, but nothing was ever set in stone. The latest update was from last year: "I have a draft I'm not totally happy with," Roth told reporters in an interview. "I want to put some more work into it so the film lives up to the trailer. We have the story and mythology cracked so now it’s about getting the kills right.”

We're still waiting, and there's no update from Roth so far this year... We're sure it's still on his thoughts, and we'll definitely continue to wait with fingers crossed. In the meantime lets check out some Thanksgiving-ish films to hold us over.

A demonic turkey is unleashed...and he's one fowl-mouthed bastard! Five college kids: a jock, a good girl, an overweight red-neck, a slut, and a nerd head home for Thanksgiving break, each thankful for the chance of holiday hookups. But when their car suddenly overheats, they trespass into the woods for a night of drinking and bonfire debauchery.
  • Blood Freak
One of the psychotronic-iest, cult-iest, and most classic psychotronic cult classics of all time. And quite possibly the world's only moralistic pro-Christian, anti-drug, swinging homicidal turkey-headed monster biker in love gore message film from the Seventies. I can't imagine why the genre didn't catch on.

Feature Trailer for the 1980's Slasher Classic Blood Rage.

Which trailer is your favorite? Are there any good Thanksgiving-themed horror films we left out? We want to know. Share your thoughts and feelings in the comments section below, and as always, remember to viddy well!
