During the dawn of Viddy Well, we asked each interested contributor to fill out the same questionnaire. The questions spanned from grave to goofy, but the replies were nearly always unexpected. This week we'll take a look at the following question:

What’s your favorite alternative Christmas movie?

Blake Haughton:

I know I used it for about every answer, but Star Wars. Specifically, A New Hope in this situation. Every time I watch it (including around Christmas) I'm utterly captivated by the spirit and optimism, the belief in the good and that it'll prevail. What's more Christmassy than that?

Tangerine. It's about a transgender prostitute who just got out of jail, it's Christmas Eve, and she's looking for her pimp/boyfriend. That movie is a hidden Netflix gem and I loved the ending. Watch it!

Nightmare Before Christmas...Danny Elfman can do no wrong.

I would say Die Hard, but I've adopted it as a full-blown Christmas movie and have incorporated it into the holiday film rolodex. I'd have to say In Bruges. I love that film and it's pitch black tone.

Anthony Cleveland:

Die hard! Nothing beats it.
