Lessons In Filmmaking Now On Prime
If you’re still love-drunk on moviemaking from Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, boy, do we have a treat for you!
The mind behind The Dirty Kind, Vilan Trub recently released a series on Amazon Prime that peers beyond the veil of moviemaking. It’s called “Lessons in Filmmaking,” and we think it’s work a watch.
Each episode, Vilan sits down with influential figures behind some of his favorite movies and TV shows, including editor Jeremiah O’Driscoll and Michael Dorn (AKA Star Trek’s Worf), to hear their stories and insight into the industry.
We found the series super insightful, and really loved hearing from the different guests. Choosing a favorite episode is hard, but if we had to choose one, it’d probably be episode 5 with Stephen Mark, editor of X-Files and Deadwood (amongst other things). His story about David Duchovny learning how to do comedy for X-Files is absolutely amazing.
You can catch “Lessons in Filmmaking” right here. The series is available for streaming for Prime members, but can also be purchased for a modest price, if you’re not a member. You can also catch more lessons with Vilan via his YouTube page and on Apple Podcasts.
